Parking: Small parking area available at the top of the steps to the beach. This area is very busy during the summer so finding a spot to leave the car is difficult.
If you are staying in Carvoeiro then this one is within walking distance.
Access: To get to the beach you have to go down a good few hundred steps. The descent is pretty steep while the trip back up is sure to take your breath away. Not good for anyone with mobility issues.
Blue Flag: No
Water Quality: NA
Beach Bar: No
Picnic Area: No
Details: If you are wanting to go to a beach in Carvoeiro but are looking to avoid the hoards in the summer on the main beach in the town then Paraiso beach is a good option.
If you travel up the coastal road past Sullys Bar and continue along this road then you will find the entry to the beach area with a small car park and the restaurant O Boteco at the top.
The beach itself is small and at high tide there is very little sand if any but at low tide this is a quiet beach with calm seas.
The hundreds of steps that lead down to the beach mean that this is not an ideal choice for anyone with small children and when you get to the bottom there are no amenities so it means running back up again if you want to buy a drink or need to use the toilet!
If you don't fancy walking all the way down then it is still worth visiting the area as the views from the car park across towards Portimão, Lagos and beyond are stunning and well worth getting your camera out for.
