Carvoeiro Community Update – October 2024
Welcome to this month’s newsletter, bringing you the latest news and updates from Praia do Carvoeiro in the Algarve.
1. Beach Cleanup Underway
A massive cleanup operation is taking place at Carvoeiro beach due to an overwhelming invasion of seaweed. This natural phenomenon, worsened by invasive species, has left the beach covered in around 300 cubic meters of algae, which is equivalent to about 30 truckloads. The local council is working hard to remove the seaweed despite logistical challenges. This process is part of a wider cleanup affecting several Algarve beaches.
